The Tank for Trevor movement is already in full effect just three weeks into the NFL season.
Clemson quarterback Trevor Lawrence, who has already announced he’ll turn pro following this season, is the projected No. 1 overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft. He’s a national champion, and one of the best quarterback prospects in years. Fans of bad NFL teams know this, and they’re eyeing the QB as they watch their teams fail.
It’s too early to know now which team will eventually be bad enough to draft Lawrence, but that hasn’t stopped fans from imagining him in their team’s uniforms. One of the fun parts about the NFL season being this early is you can dream big about the future of your franchise.

And while we don’t know for sure which team will draft Lawrence in 2021, we’re starting to get some ideas. There are plenty of winless NFL teams this season, and some of those teams have featured some poor quarterback play.
So let’s look at some fanbases that have their hopes up for Trevor Lawrence.
The Eagles are 0-2-1 after losing to Washington and the Rams and tying with the Bengals. Current starter Carson Wentz has not been good, throwing two interceptions in each of the first three games this season. And despite having Jalen Hurts behind Wentz, some Eagles fans are already thinking of Lawrence.
The Eagles are smart to tank for Trevor Lawrence. Adding a player like that to your QB Factory will only make Carson Wentz and Jalen Hurts better.

New York Giants
The Giants are off to an 0-3 start, and Daniel Jones hasn’t looked great. It seems a bit too early to give up Jones, especially after New York lost Saquon Barkley this season, but Lawrence is starting to seem like a possibility.

New York Jets
It seems as if both New York fanbases are upset with their quarterback situation. Despite drafting Sam Darnold in the first round in 2018, some Jets fans are ready to move on.

I don’t think we’re too many more Sam Darnold picks away from the possibility of Trevor Lawrence in the AFC East. Twenty years of Tom Brady and we have to face this guy twice a year?

The Jets game just started and Sam Darnold immediately threw a pick-six. Jets are a lock for Trevor Lawrence.

Kirk Cousins is one of the highest-paid quarterbacks in the NFL, but that doesn’t mean he’s good. He looked better in Week 3 than he did in Week 2, but he had two interceptions and a fumble in the game. Cousins is also off to an 0-3 start with Minnesota, so Lawrence it is.
Look, Matt Ryan is getting up there in age, and Atlanta needs to think about its future. After an 0-3 start that’s seen some disastrous blown leads, maybe it’s Trevor Time for the Falcons.
Trevor Lawrence is gonna look great in a Falcons uniform

if Dan Quinn doesn’t get fired after this week I’ll be convinced the Falcons are just tanking for Trevor Lawrence
